On June 28th, 2007, Tony Proudfoot announced that he has Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Tony has handled his diagnosis with courage and grace. Those around him have been inspired by his example. Alouettes’ All-Star defensive back, Davis Sanchez, is no exception. Tony first coached Davis during the 2000 season. To demonstrate his support for his coach and for the other 3,000 Canadians living with ALS, this season Davis will donate $200 for every interception he makes and an additional $100 for every Alouettes win to the Tony Proudfoot Fund. In addition to supporting research, Tony's Fund helps improve the living conditions for people living with ALS and provides support for their family members through programs across the province. Davis is asking fans to join him and Tony in the fight against ALS. Please make a donation to the Tony Proudfoot Fund by clicking here. Donations of $20 or more are tax-deductible. Donations can also be sent to The ALS Society of Quebec c/o The Tony Proudfoot Fund by mail or by calling 514-725-2653. Thank you for your support and generosity. Links: |
